The funny part is not so much Hawk and Jayce having yet another retarded conversation. No, it's that the turtles retreat into their shells, using this simple, turtle-like tactic to defeat their enemy. In essence, Hawk has highlighted something which these particular turtles don't usually do, but which they technically should be able to do and which would make them far more effective at beating up the baddies.
Also, giant robot slipping on a bunch of turtles. Dude.
